Explore Skopje

Birthplace of Mother Teresa, location of the Kale Fortress, and capital of North Macedonia, Skopje is North Macedonia`s largest city and it has a rich history. Through the heart of the city flows the Vardar river, with the more historical buildings on one bank and the modern buildings on the other. The Stone Bridge, originally built in the 15th century, connects these two halves of the center together. Skopje has a warm temperate climate. It is populated by a variety of museums, archaeological sites, and other places of interest.

Matka

Matka Canyon is one of the most beautiful places to visit in North Macedonia. This wonderful gem of nature is located only a short ride away from the capital and you can easily go there as a day trip from Skopje.

Old Bazaar

The Old Bazaar is arguably the most popular tourist attraction in Skopje, situated in the old part of Skopje and just a short walk from the main square it's easily reached and explored. The Old Bazaar has characteristics and dynamics of its own kind and it is a survivor of many wars, occupations and cultural and religious changes. It, also remains the oldest living witness of the history of this region as every kingdom and empire, every regime and every rule have let its traces on the rocks of Skopje Old Bazaar.

Mother Teresa Memorial House

Born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu on August 26 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia, in the former Yugoslavia, she was the youngest of three children. Her family was of Albanian descent. Mother Teresa's work has been recognized throughout the world and she has received a number of awards, the most prestigious being the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize; in 1971 she received the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize; the Bharat Ratna and many more. Mother Teresa died on 5th September, 1997.
